San Antonio, though hot and humid, was a lovely city. We started by visiting the Alamo. We did a self-guided audio tour and enjoyed learning more about the complicated history of Texas, Spain, Mexico, and the U.S. We’ll always “Remember the Alamo!”
After the Alamo, we had some yummy Tex-Mex along the city’s “River Walk” for lunch. It had a smokey, bbq-type flavor that differentiated it from the So-Cal Mexican food that we are used to.
The River Walk was such a beautiful area with old building, big trees, and arched bridges. We took a 30 minute boat tour and learned more about the area from our funny tour guide.
It was a great day and I would definitely visit San Antonio again!
Texas Soundtrack: Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, Garth Brooks, and other classic country.
Movie: The Alamo with John Wayne. Quote from Luke… “Well it was pretty anticlimactic since everyone dies.”
Tex Mex food is a favorite of ours. Terri introduced us and we yearn for it. Thanks for making my mouth water….
Jerry and I never took a boat ride on the Riverwalk. I’d love to be with you on your trips. You do all the cool, fun things. 🙂
Haha! Totally anticlimactic Luke! Also love Lilly’s hair! San Antonio looks incredible.
