We stopped in Charleston to see its historic district which is really interesting because it has both Revolutionary War and Civil War significance. We saw Fort Sumter where the first shots of the Civil War were fired and other monuments and buildings that had been around since the 1700s.

The next day we were in need of some beach time so we stopped in Myrtle Beach. Chad’s parents like to spent part of their winters there and we could see why. It has a great family atmosphere and was pretty low-key, even with it being the busy season. We walked along the boardwalk, ate ice cream, and played in the water. It was like being in a gentle wave pool and so nice to float and cool off. There are a crazy amount of shells there and it feels like walking on shards of glass when you initially go in the water, but then it drops off into nice, smooth sand. The life guards wouldn’t let swimmers go out very far and I wondered if it was because of sharks…
Here is some nice footage of Chad showing some skin to everyone.
Chadley!!!! ššš love this post.
